Smoked Wings by David Griffin
A magnificent shot of a street chef taken in Kuala Lumpur by Australian photographer David Griffen convinced this year’s judges and seized the crown as Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2015.
Griffen and his winning photo “Smoke Wings” was presented with the £5000 prize by Andy Macdonald, Managing Director of Pink Lady® in the UK and headline sponsor of the Awards.
“Almost 6500 images were entered this year, up from last year, and from 56 countries. Indeed, more than 20,000 images have been submitted since the first Awards. As ever, it was a phenomenally high standard, making the judges’ decision incredibly tough. We are delighted to present the trophy and prize to David for this wonderful photograph,” said Macdonald. “He is our first Australian winner, and it reflects the truly international nature of the Awards.”
In the category Production Paradise Food off the Press the winner was announced as Maja Smend (Germany/UK) for her inventive image, Mondrian Battenberg.
