The winners of the world´s leading awards for the art of food photography and film were unemail logo bar rightxwrapped and Production Paradise had the pleasure to be part of the prize-giving ceremony. Hosting their own category, Production Paradise Food off the Press, we joined more than four hundred guests at the Champagne Taittinger reception at the Mall Galleries for this year’s Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2016 Award on April, 26th.

More than 7,000 images and films from more than 60 countries – spanning Europe to Australia, USA to India – were fighting on an extremely high level to get the coveted prize.

An emotionally filled picture named “Flour Frenzy” convinced this year´s judges on who should receive the prize of £5000, given by Andy Macdonald, Managing Director of Pink Lady® in the UK and headline sponsor of the Awards. The joyful winning shot of a baker having fun with flour while making bread was taken by the crowned British photographer Mark Benham. “He is only our second British winner in five years, and it reflects the truly international nature of the Awards,“ said Macdonald.

“It was a tough competition” admitted the judges. “The quality of all submissions was phenomenal. But Susan’s image overtopped the rest in the category through its remarkable beautiful light, composition and simplicity.”

Production Paradise CEO Andreas von Estorff explains: “The photo by Susan Bell has a certain elegance and simplicity, which for me, distinguished it above the rest. It was a difficult decision to make, as there were so many incredible images to view this year and the standard was very high.”

Mark Peel, Creative Relations Agent from Production Paradise, headed over from Edinburgh to represent the company and was delighted to present her with the trophy.
