Art buyer, casting director and producer Kim Handley has been a devoted Production Paradise member since 2007. Since then her production company, George Productions, has taken advantage of not only our directory but of also 10 New York Showcases and Photo Production Spotlights. These frequent features have proved invaluable to her business. Here Kim offers us a glimpse of her successful quarter of a century in the production industry.
When did you start your business, how long have you been in the industry?
Around 25 years.
How did you start doing what you do, what inspired you?
Film and English tv commercials, I wanted to work in media and figured out a way to do it…
What part of your work do you enjoy the most?
All aspects, even wrapping! But mostly the people that I meet, each job is a whole new set of personalities & destinations.
What is the most interesting thing that has happened to you professionally, or who were you most excited to work with?
Working with Marcus Nispel for his fledgling production co., it’s where I cut my teeth and learned so much. And Stevie Wonder… it was a shoot with India Arie and Stevie for Target
What do you consider your biggest professional achievement?
Keeping my company viable through all the city’s ups and downs…
What resources do you use to promote your work?
Besides PP? Le Book, word of mouth, and getting out there…
What have you found most useful about being a Production Paradise member?
It comes through on its promises, it gets me jobs!

What do you think is the future of this industry?
The world is screaming for content, so hopefully it still stays a thriving business.
