On September 30th, The International Cinematographers Guild will be celebrating this year’s honorees at the Emerging Cinematographer Awards. The 16th annual Emerging Cinermatographer Awards will be held at the Directors Guild of America Theater in Los Angeles.
This year’s submissions saw an increase of 30 per cent. Over 100 short films were created by artists all over America. This years event will showcase the work of honored cinematographers Robert C. Webb (The Girl in the Dark Room), Daron Keet (Ripple Effect), John Barr (The Carrier), Brian O’Carroll (Angel), Michael Pescasio (Don’t Let Your Love Annihilate), James Takata (Only Child), Pete Villani (Carjack) and Stewart Whelan (The Money Pet). In addition to those selected, 1st AC Michael Alden Lloyd (Dawn) and 1st AC Basil Smith (Cowards and Monsters) will also recieve an honorable mention.
The Production Paradise Team will also be there in the audience, helping to round out the applause. In addition to the event in Los Angeles, there will also be a New York screening of the honored shorts on Sunday, October 21, 2012. This will be followed by a reception at the School of Visual Arts.
