CONTRA Service Productions
During 2011 Contra once again showed that nearly nothing is impossible.
Its projects went from pictures of an orangutan for British Airways with photographer Jenny van Sommers at Wyatt Clarke, to climbing the Rockies for Engelhorn Sports with photographer Frederik Clement.
For Allianz insurance Contra helped Garry Simpson at Vue to defeat the Atlantic Ocean and enter the production halls of Airbus in Toulouse, while for the BMW i3 and i8 the company organised a photo shoot in Chicago with photographer Thomas von Salomon.
Last but not least, Contra's Chinese baby - Contra Service Productions China - produced the 'Peoples Car' campaign for Volkswagen.

Contra
On sunny days, on the high roofs of the Barcelona skyline, Ian Davies shot the latest campaign for K-Swiss Sneakers. By his side were Liz Graves and Michelle from Mouth Advertising, New York.
They also did two shoots for Opel with the Mc Cann Erickson Agency out in Andalucia: One was for the New Opel Meriva Catalogue with Dan Mc Nally, shot around Marbella and Malaga. Art Director : Artur Friedrich.
Further west, Jan Steinhilber shot ads for the Opel Tigra around Tarifa with CD, Kirsten Hohls, and AD, Thomas Przondzion.
Two new projects mean that Contra have to travel as far afield as Asia: at this moment Hans Dornseif is preparing SAP in Hong Kong and will later move on to Tokyo to shoot for Land Rover.

The UBS Bank "Graduate Recruitment" campaign was produced with Gerhard Linnekogel in Zurich, Hong Kong and London. The agency was Publicis Zurich with art director Flavio Meroni and Ines Rimmele in art buying, who also chose Contra to produce Rivella lemonade with Photographer Nathan Beck and Boris Becker as model.
Photographer John DK from Barcelona shot Nissan Micra in Berlin. Agency Typoweb Paris with creative director Nelson Zancato.Suzuki Motors Germany and agency Mainline, Frankfurt asked Contra Service to produce the shoot for the new Vitara with Photographer Magnus Winter. The photos were shot in the Pyrenees, creative director Oliver Mundt. Then straight afterwards the same team worked on motifs for the new Suzuki Swift in the south of Germany.
The new "R-Class" campaign for Mercedes was shot by photographer team Trautann Woeller, agency was Springer and Jacoby with CD Antje Hedde and art director Gerrit Zinke. Contra Service closed off tunnels in Luxemburg and Austria for the shoot.

Alpujarras [Spain] : Contra
The Alpujarras are located in Southern Spain between the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the Mediterranean coast. It is a unique area of stunning natural beauty with a good climate and very good light throughout most of the year. It offers a mix of scenery; magnificent rugged peaks of the Sierra Nevada, the foothills of the southern slopes, deep valleys, rivers, mountains, desert and numerous picturesque villages.

Hong Kong is a unique and diverse melting pot where traditional old markets and ultra-modern architecture sit side by side. It is a large, vibrant city with lush green countryside and good beaches nearby. Its sub-tropical climate makes it an all-year-round destination.
Hong Kong has an excellent infrastructure to support all kinds of production, as well as excellent communications. It has one of the world's largest seaports and one of the most modern inter-continental airports.
With reasonable production expenses, Hong Kong is a popular location for photographic and film production, and is frequently used by Hollywood studios for major motion picture productions.
Contra Service Productions has a network of local production personnel in Hong Kong with the necessary bi-lingual English-Cantonese key crew on all productions. This year, so far they have completed productions in Hong Kong for Ansons, Mild Seven and UBS.

Tokyo [Japan] : Contra
Tokyo is Japan's largest city, the fast-moving capital that was recently seen close-up in the cinema success Lost in Translation.
The city and its surrounding areas offer some beautiful and very distinctive locations: from Odaiba's futuristic shopping and entertainment district and Shiodome's spectacular skyscrapers to typical Japanese-style gardens, wooded mountains and beautiful landscapes.Japan has excellent transportation with modern airports, good roads, fast trains and plenty of bridges, making many areas of the country quickly accessible. Furthermore, the transport architecture creates many interesting locations for productions.
