Lorentz Gullachsen
From the boardroom to the workplace, from a trading floor or logistics warehouse to quarry in deep mud.
Lorentz Gullachsen has many years experience working worldwide on industrial and corporate projects, annual reports, web portraits and B2B advertising. He is as relaxed with the chairman as he is with the janitor.
"I don't see problems, just solutions in disguise," says Lorentz. "I relish challenges, be it a two-minute portrait of a 'difficult' sitter or an impossible location, I work toward getting a result that exceeds expectations, I offer a variety of styles and approaches, from fly on the wall observed to stylized large format. I shoot what is most appropriate for the situation and the designer's needs, on time and on budget."

After time out to gain an MA at BIAD in VisCom, Lorentz Gullachsen is back with a new website and direction. Known for his landscapes and automotive work, he has now returned to his first love of shooting people on location.
With new bases in London, the Cotswolds and Spain, Lorentz has been developing a new approach to portraits. Shooting high-end digital, he produces panoramic files that can be used for very high-resolution prints. They can be cropped for many formats, especially web-based requirements. Lorentz also shoots moving images.
Recent commissions include lifestyle shoots for a major healthcare client, trading and corporate commissions.

"Consume less or the planet dies. Consume more or the economy dies."
Lorentz Gullachsen has been working on a personal project entitled 'Off Your Trolley'.
"Photography is a powerful tool," says Lorentz. "It may even help to save our world. We need to question how much we consume or waste. I don't have the answers, but I may have some of the questions."
The photographer also recently shot travel editorials in Wales and completed a short film which is currently in post production.

London: Lorentz Gullachsen
Lorentz Gullachsen recently shot cowboys, showgirls, mechanics, truck drivers, landscape gardeners, teachers and bookkeepers - and that was just in one day!
A busy mix of advertising campaigns, editorial commissions and personal projects has kept Lorentz busy over the last twelve months in the UK, as well as New Zealand, Italy and Spain. From his base in the heart of England he is well placed to get to most UK locations.
The photographer says, "It has been a tough year for everyone, but somehow I've been lucky and pragmatic about all aspects of production. It's great to stay in a five-star hotel, but there are great bed & breakfast places around too, so let's keep real location photography alive - stock shots are for wimps!"

"The harsh winter has produced a great spring and the green shoots of recovery seem to be showing. Positive photography is the way forward; there is too much 'gloom & doom', so let's bring sunshine into the campaigns. There's a great summer ahead!"
Personal projects: Cheltenham Festival, St. George's Day, Walking.

London: Lorentz Gullachsen
Lorentz Gullachsen shoots people in landscapes. Although known as a landscape and car photographer, he has always shot people (and even the occasional animal!). He has received more awards with his people shots (including AOP Gold) than his landscapes, and now has a dedicated website for his people and creature images.
Recent commissions have been for John Lewis through Kitcatt Nohr and Merial through EuroRSCGlife.
The photographer really enjoys healthcare and tourism advertising assignments, turning what are apparently observed reportage-style images into highly produced spontaneous-looking pictures that deliver a 'believable' client image. In effect, as Lorentz says, "creating advertising that doesn't look like advertising".
Producing image banks for clients is another of his strengths. Lorentz can put together a cost-effective collection of images as a resource for clients who want the overall feel of owning "a family of images".

Lorentz Gullachsen recently shot Azumit Luxury Yachts in Italy for JWT Milan, as well as housing stock shots for the charity Shelter in the West Midlands. "The contrast seems surreal," Lorentz said, "but that's the appeal of this job: to be able to see the extremes of life and find beauty in it all."
In October, the photographer opened his exhibition 'A Year in Teme Valley', due to run until January 2009 at the The Gallery in Martley, Worcester. This inaugural exhibition is a personal collection of landscapes that were shot in the Teme Valley, where Lorentz lives.
Other projects included editorial work for Chicago-based Rotarian Magazine that involved shooting Lady Godivia in Coventry, portraits of beef farmers for EuroRSCG Life, and a trip back to Italy for Y&R Geneva to shoot Tuscan landscapes for Caterpillar.

Recent work will be featured alongside his signature images such as 'Sam' (Samantha) and 'Venice Flower Man'.
Lorentz has always shot people, but recently his lifestyle work has been attracting a great deal of interest. A separate site seemed the best way to present this alternative aspect of his work.

Lorentz Gullachsen
Lorentz Gullachsen is best known as "the man who shot the flower man" thanks to his highly popular photograph of a man in Venice with a huge bunch of red flowers. The photo has been used many times by art directors and designers around the world.
Having been at the top of his profession for over 15 years, Lorentz is often described as "a safe pair of hands" by his clients, who have included Nicorette, Gallo Wines, and the Swedish, Spanish, Tunisian and English Tourist Boards.
But safe does not mean unexciting. Lorentz particularly enjoys mixing the latest techniques and technologies with more traditional photography. This alchemistic approach makes for interesting and striking work, some of which has an intriguing 'is-that-real-or-not' feel to it. Lorentz's main artistic influence, the painter Turner, also shows in his photography: sweeping, dramatic skies are a regular feature in his work.
Lorent's love of landscape and passion for cars has brought him commissions from virtually all the global car manufacturers - Skoda to Rolls Royce - as well as extensive travel around the world.
