The 1896 Studios and Stages consists of three varied turn-of-the-century warehouses and multiple outdoor shooting venues located just 15 minutes from Manhattan in Brooklyn, NY.
The studios are known for their endless and varied collection of brick wall textures, steel-girded 37' sky-lit ceilings, century-old urban architectural details, and open unobstructed space suitable for any set construction.
The 1896 boasts over a dozen locations within one 22,000 sq. ft. complex with the neighbourhood conveniences and modern comforts suitable for shooting any large television series, feature film, documentary, commercial, fashion shoot or music video.

Newly opened in Brooklyn, NYC, the 1896 shooting location and film/photo stage offers a unique turn-of-the-century complex of warehouses and outdoor venues, as well as the scope and conveniences to execute any imaginable set.
The 1896 features eight unique locations under three roofs and 8,000 square feet of building space. The two main brick warehouses feature 6,000 square feet of sky-lit space, 30-foot steel A-framed ceilings, as well as wide-ranging and revolving century-old textured walls throughout.
Joining the main stages, a 2,000 square foot brick-lined courtyard and drive features an overlooking balcony, four fire escapes and two massive roofs complete with water towers, smokestack and a beautiful view of Manhattan.
Other locations such as a richly textured freight elevator, several stairwells, hallways, a modern loft apartment and numerous artist studios are filtered throughout the property.
The 1896 has a growing 300+ piece prop collection as well as its own line of architecturally themed props, Primate Props, coming out in 2010. A newly built corner Cyc adds to an already abundant variety of textured walls. Modern shooting amenities abound, with full hair and make-up rooms and a green room for clients. All stages are fully powered and heated. -
