London: Andy Whale for Jamie Stephen
Since 1987 Andy Whale has established himself as a highly respected advertising photographer, working with a broad range of subject matter.
He has shot numerous high profile campaigns for brands such as Bombay Sapphire, Adidas, Missing Persons Bureau, Smirnoff, and many more.
Andy also works as a director of photography, bringing his technical and production experience to the world of moving images.
His most recent exhibition is titled 'Not Quite Right', a series of gritty portraits featuring actors waiting for their ideal role to come up. "It is a collection of hope and insecurity as they wait for their agent to call, when most will hear the familiar refrain 'Sorry, you’re not quite right'".

Working with Art Director Larry Osborne, Andy took a breathtaking shot of ballet dancer Darcey Bussell in black and white in the style of a 1950s Hollywood film poster. The forest set was actually built in the studio. The shoot was for Dewynters Advertising.
He also created three eerie and thought-provoking images for the National Missing Persons Helpline. They were done on spec for the charity with a team from ad agency Walsh Trott Chick Smith.
