Born in Blackpool in the north of England, Gary Salter studied graphics and photography in Liverpool before moving to London, where he is currently based. He produces bold images with a distinctive and unique photographic style and quirky sense of humour. His work receives critical acclaim both in the UK and Internationally. Recent awards have been recieved from the Association of Photographers for his personal ‘Trainspotting’ series, a D&AD for work completed for ‘Think’ road safety, a Scottish advertising awards for his recent Bulmers campaign, and an Altpic award for his personal ‘Waterpolo’ project and ‘Suntowels’ image.
More recently, Gary has been commissioned for several moving image projects for clients including Sky TV, Honda, Absolute Radio, Giffgaff and the Bboy championships, among others.
Recent clients include Sky, Giffgaff, Walkers Crisps, Channel 4, Observer magazine, Heinz, Honda, GlaxoSmithKline, Yakult, Absolute Radio, Philips, Sony Ericsson, Frank, PG Tips, Finlandia, Windex, Ruffles, Nivea, Vodafone, Airmiles and Fosters.
