Video Editor
Los Angeles, CA

Do you ever find yourself in the wee hours of the night with one hand on your keyboard obsessively performing keystroke trim edits to get timing just right, while the other hand dips Nilla wafers in the Milky Way? Do you ever watch TV and imagine how you could have edited that clip better? Then this may be the job for you. Hulu is searching for a video editor to join our small, but growing, video production team that serves the entire organization - from cutting TV promos to producing sizzle reels, to digitizing content.

Applicants must be expert editors, storytellers and meaning-makers.

This position requires someone who is not only creative, but also technical. Hulu aggregates content from all over the world and in every format, dimension, frame-rate, and codec imaginable, so a strong working technical knowledge of film and video NTSC, HD, and PAL formats is required. We also work extensively with MPEGs, so understanding the differences between intra-frame and inter-frame codices is essential. If you don’t know the difference between an “inverse telecine” and an “adaptive deinterlace” then this is probably not the best fit. If you can describe the difference between a 2:3 pulldown and 2:2:2:4 pulldown, then we’re in business!

General requirements:

• Attention to detail.
• The ability to communicate effectively and with poise and maturity in person, in writing, over the phone, or even on a napkin.
• Gracefully gives and takes feedback.
• At least 3 years editing experience with Final Cut Pro. In our multimedia environment, being an editor means having experience with graphics, motion graphics, compositing, color correcting, dialogue and music editing.
• Comfortable using Photoshop, After Effects, Motion, ProTools, Soundtrack Pro, Color, Compressor, and ProCoder.
• Willingness to adapt is essential.

This is a fast-growing company that changes daily, and we’re young enough that opportunities abound. Our ideal candidate is someone who stays current with film and video technology and entertainment in order to help us continually improve our operation.

If you are qualified and interested, submit the following:

• Your resume. Include work experience, editorial and otherwise.
• A video reel of your past work as an editor.

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree is expected, but valuable industry experience is equally valued.

Rasquache Film Productions seeks a tireless advocate from Pre- through Post-Production for the powerful American tragedy, The Cabin -- an independent feature film set to shoot in Spring 2011, with a estimated budget of $480,000.

The film follows Mason - rugged, charismatic, and on the run - as he sets out to build a cabin in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. He buys logs off-the-books, bribes a Park Ranger, and hires a three-man crew from a neighboring Native American reservation. As The Cabin rises, Mason grows infatuated with Alejandra - the fiance of crew-boss Isaiah - and stops at nothing in pursuit of her.

Co-written by Rasquache's Kelly Daniela Norris and Travis Pittman, The Cabin has been germinating for more than 4 years, most recently under the guidance of esteemed Writer David Milch (creator of Deadwood and NYPD Blue). Additionally, Mr. Milch has signed onto The Cabin as an Executive Producer.

Rasquache's previous project, the short film Sinnerman (2009, 21mins, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1404722 ) has been featured and awarded by multiple festivals.

Qualifications for Producer position:

1. Must be passionate about PRODUCING and passionate about the project
2. Organized, Resourceful, Positive, Good sense of humor
3. Must have produced at least ONE feature film, preferably on a budget greater than $200,000.
4. Applicant must have experience tackling ALL of the following:

- Scouting and securing locations
- Creating a workable and efficient schedule
- Drafting and finalizing our budget (different versions depending on casting, State selection, equipment selection, etc.)
- Finding and securing sources of investment and funding
- Preparing offers to actors
- Setting up a Production Office
- Utilizing all CONTACTS at your and our disposal: w/ Actors' agents and casting, w/ future department heads, w/ state film commissions, w/ rental houses, w/ sales agents, w/ production and distribution companies, w/ bond/insurance companies

As co-Writers and Directors (who've donned the Producer's cap in the past) dedicated full-time to this project, we've already drafted an Investor's Package (w/ Executive Summary, Location Specs, first-pass Shooting Schedule and Budget, etc.) and are committed to supporting our producer in any manner he/she needs. We are not here to simply pass off logistical responsibility, but to form - with the unique skills, knowledge, and contacts of a capable partner - a team whose only goal is to MAKE THIS FILM.

This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the genuine article: an unbridled passion-project. As such, you'll be collaborating with 2 tenacious & creative - but, alas, presently-poor - artistic types, and must be willing to work on a PARTIALLY-DEFERRED, RESULTS-BASED salary. That being said, your work will be compensated.

Excellent opportunity to work, and earn credits, as a Producer & Marketing Manager on the distribution of one soon-to-be-completed film and one completed, award-winning feature-length movie for an Emmy and Oscar-winning independent NYC film production company with network credits for ABC, FX, Showtime, MTV, Discovery, NBC and Comedy Central.

We have completed one feature film: a feature length doc, American Faust: From Condi to Neo-Condi, aimed at TV, online and festival exhibition – see trailer at www.americanfaust.com Our new film, Bromance over Condi, stars Adrian Grenier (Entourage), Devin Ratray (Home Alone) and Jim Norton (HBO), and is about the absurd role that friends and family play when we fall madly in love. We are screening a fine cut of the film on August 2, and aim to picture-lock it in late August, and deliver by October 1. You would be an integral part of this creative and marketing process.

The film already has a VOD and DVD deal with our own distribution platform IndiesDirect (see www.indiesdirect.com). We also have a deal with IndiePixfilms.com and your job would be on the cutting edge of indie film distribution.

The current team involves an Emmy-nominated director (Project Runway, 30 Days), a twice-Oscar winning composer (Rocky), an editor from The Colbert Report, the producer from Michael Moore’s Sicko, and the DP from The Hills.

We're looking to bring on ASAP an experienced, passionate, detail-oriented and energetic Producer & Marketing Manager. Your main responsibilities will be in managing the release of Bromance Over Condi. This will include securing placement of the film in festivals around the world, inc. researching festivals, liaising with festival programmers, negotiating fee waivers. You will also spearhead the films’ distribution, generating press and publicity for theatrical and online release, and virally marketing.

Experience and contacts in the marketing, social networking & distribution sides of film-making are strong advantages. Broadband access, attention to detail, and a belief in creating new distribution methods for indie film, are vital.

Availability: from as soon as possible, for an initial 20 weeks

Credit: Producer credit on Bromance and American Faust and Marketing Manager on IMDB etc

Points: You will receive a percentage stake in the film.

Rate: TBD based on experience, with starting rate at $65 per hour.

Please send a resume and a cover letter explaining what relevant experience you have, specifically why you are right for this position

Third Eye Film Productions is seeking an experienced documentary producer to help take our slate forward.

We have a range of docs in early development, all of which are original and exciting subjects. The first has already attracted some significant commissioning interest and we plan to capitalise on the wider interest generated by the success of our last major project. We need an experienced producer to start immediately, initially both to help hone the pitches and widen the net for potential funding, and then move the projects forward.

Given the range of projects in development, we may be looking for more than one additional producer. London-based producers are preferred but not essential.

Third Eye Film Productions was set up by directors/producers Robert Cannan and Corinna Villari-McFarlane. Their last film, feature doc ‘Three Miles North of Molkom’ was one of the best-reviewed documentaries of 2009 and was on national theatrical release last Autumn. I am a short filmmaker based in Bournemouth, in pre-production for a short film I have been planning to make in London this summer.

The short film, 'The Girl Who Cracked' is to be shot in HD over 6 days around London and St. Albans, on a low budget. Ideally this will be submitted to a high number of festivals all over the world. So far I have been trying to cast this myself, but have not had much luck finding 3 members of the cast.

All cast will be on an expenses only basis which of course limits my options somewhat.

I am looking for a fairly experienced casting director who has casted a low budget film like this before.

The fee for this is £200, although this is based on finding the three cast required. This means auditioning people in London with myself and us both agreeing on the best talent.

If you would be interested please send me a CV, and I am happy to speak further. If you feel you have the power to find a great cast I would be very happy to hear from you!
