My photo studio is getting quite busy and so its time to scale things up - looking for a studio assistant/ninja to join my team!

A BIT ABOUT ME:

I'm an advertising/fashion/beauty photographer based in Brooklyn, NY.

Settling into NYC after a several year stint in SF and looking to get things really rolling here in 2014.
I could use a hand in making this happen- that's where you come in.

A BIT ABOUT YOU:

I'm looking for someone who's been around the biz a bit already.
Not expected to be an expert in all of the below but the more the better!!


WHAT I NEED:

Producer
This will be your primary responsibility. My shoots are getting larger and larger in scale, and I need you to help me coordinate them.
This includes everything from location and model scouting to mood boards, organizing schedules, call-sheets, coordinating between clients & agents etc etc, theres LOTS to do!

A Creative
Your title does not limit your input to the 'business' arena. You may be the first person to see a concept for a project. Or maybe you come up with an idea yourself. Im looking for someone who gets excited about the creative process and is eager to be a part of it.

Retouching
I often have several projects in post production at the same time so I need support in cleaning up files and general correction etc. Ideal candidate has some experience here, esp in working with skin.

Photo assisting
I always need an extra set of hands to help with everything from lighting to set-building. We will be at my studio or on-location at least once a month, and several times over in busy times.
If you have experience in this would be great but if not I can teach you!

Office
Help me keep everything organized & efficient. No I don't need you to dust - but I do need your help in maintaining files of models, projects and keeping track of schedules. Also things like estimates, invoicing, paperwork, emailing etc. This is a smaller part of the job, but important.

Marketing
I have an Adbase account and I need your help in using this to put together lists of potential clients and sending out email and print promos. I also am promoting my work on facebook and my blog, and am looking for new and creative ways to approach social media marketing.

"People-Person"
Notice this is not under 'wants,' but 'need.' You will be an outward-facing extension of my business, and I need someone who is friendly and easy to talk to. An inter-personal maven. Your finesse and prowess in talking with clients and associates in person, on the phone and in emails is paramount.
Also, we'll be seeing each other every week, so you'll have to deal with me. Just kidding, i'm nice :)

Self-Starter
As this is a small team, everyone really has to pull their weight. And then some. Im not looking for someone to just come in and check things off a list. I want you to take the initiative to see what things could be done better and help figure out how to make that happen. If I give ya lemons, make lemonade. If we're out of lemons, make lemonade anyways- lemonade is tasty.


WOULD BE A PLUS:

-We work on Macs so hopefully you know your way around them
-Any experience working in video or"motion" in general would be great
-Experience in Adobe products (photoshop, light room, in-design, etc)


WHAT I'M OFFERING:

-2-3 days a week work in a busy photography studio (STARTING ASAP).
-After a short trial period to make sure we're a good fit, a monthly salary TBD on experience and # of days in the office
-Exposure to every part of the biz you may want to know about... and also those you don't ;)
-Paid assisting jobs. Once you are savvy on set, you get extra $$$ as an assistant on client gigs
-A great learning experience. Im a "hugger" & and that ethos expands to everything I do. Im not secretive about any part of what I do, I love to share knowledge and have taught a few classes at ICP and Art Academy to prove it.
-A relaxed place to work- casual friday every day & schedule flexibility
-A long term- relationship. Im looking for someone who's invested in growing with the studio, maybe eventually taking on the role of studio manager!
