Designs and executes packaging, information graphics and promotional material for ABC News broadcasts, digital entities and all other related content.
Creative liaison between artists in the graphics department and different ABC News dayparts/shows.
Collaborates with directors, producers, and writers to visualize editorial ideas and translate and improve upon initial concepts.
Designing for multiple platforms (video/digital), interactive development, visual storytelling, information design, typography and be an ingenious visual problem solver.
Manage creative staff and deadlines of multiple projects
Must be highly creative, innovative, extremely motivated, organized and able to handle creative pressures under extreme deadlines.
The candidate must be able to manage quick turnaround of graphics assets
Minimum 5 years as a Designer overseeing video and or interactive design
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends
Visual design and development experience along with thorough hands-on proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite. Must also have knowledge of current graphics software such as C4D, Maya, VizRt, and Flame.
Ability to manage creative staff and deadlines
Motion graphics experience a must
Strong editorial background with demonstrated experienc making editorial decisions
Detail-oriented with proficiency at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
Ability to identify and implement process improvements to meet project & team needs
Ability to think & communicate clearly and effectively, contributing to all discussions and strategy during the entire design process, from concept through completion
Superior typography and design sensibilities
Thorough understanding of brand identity principles and ability to apply brand consistency across multiple platforms
Five or more years experience in Graphic Design in a Digital/Broadcast environment
BA from a four year accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
