Job Summary

Intermediate/Senior level design position. Candidate should possess strong design skills, a background in the beauty, fashion or retail industries, either in-house, agency or editorial. Definite fashion-forward aesthetic as well as mastery of design skills in the development of 2-D and 3-D promotional materials is essential. Organization and communication skills a must. Candidate should be able to manage all aspects of a given project from concept through completion, including interaction and direction of various outside vendors. Must be able to work well independently or within a team.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, or equivalent. Emphasis in design/visual communication.
Superior computer design skills. Should be fluent in Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
5 – 7 years experience as an Art Director in an intermediate/senior capacity. Background could include beauty, fashion, retail, agency or editorial. Strong, modern design sensibility. Some experience in photo direction (still life and fashion) is a plus.
Excellent communication and organization skills. Ability to work well under tight deadlines at a fast pace, must be able to accept direction and interpret it effectively.

Judgment and Decision Making:
This position requires low level of supervision. An ideal candidate would be able to work autonomously to achieve strategic goals. Additionally, the Director Art needs to have a proven track record of providing superb level of supervision and guidance to grow and develop a high performance team.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

Work with Creative Directors and the Global Marketing Team in the development of global dossiers for new product launches and other long-range formats. Dossiers may include ad formats, print promo materials, package designs, comps and production information.

Work with the Associate Creative Director to interpret the global dossiers with relation to specific assigned jobs to be produced for the Domestic Marketing Team for the US market.

Planning and execution of presentation materials for strategic marketing meetings, these projects involve comp packaging and presentation concept boards.

Execution of all conceptual, design and production aspects of assigned projects on a timely basis, adhering to specific timelines/deadlines.

Coordinate and direct outside vendors (i.e.: color separators, photographers, illustrators, and artist representatives) on specific assigned projects on a timely basis, and within established budgets.
