Feature Animation - Senior Crowd Simulation Artist

The Senior Crowd Artist will be a key member of the Crowd team who will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Crowd pipeline for the animated feature. This will involve following direction from the Lead Crowd Artist and the CG Supervisor.
Having a good understanding of large-scale VFX post production or full CG feature pipelines, especially Animation and Crowds.
Being familiar with the principles of crowd simulation and being able to create fuzzy simulations of agents from the scratch with a variety of packages.
Understanding the creative and technical needs of creating great looking crowd shots.
Setting up the pipeline and and creating tools for artists to work on.
Managing and guiding other crowd artists, both creatively and technically.
Taking a brief and communicating direction to the team.
Working closely with technical and creative artists from other departments.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Visualization or Computer Animation required or equivalent work experience.
About 4 years experience in crowd simulation or related discipline for feature film projects.
Deep understanding of particle systems in general.
Good Maya knowledge.
Rigging experience in Maya.
Good technical background.
Fluent in Python scripting and preferable also in C++ programming.
Good sense of motion and choreography.
Attention to detail.
Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new information.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organizational skills.
