Overview

This is an exciting role for an experienced senior designer who wants to lead a small, newly-created in-house studio.

Working closely with the Marketing team on brand and campaign projects, you’ll be responsible for delivering against briefs across channels including digital, print, branding and shopper.

A hands-on team-leader who is comfortable sketching, designing, creating concepts and working across disciplines, you’ll inspire, guide and mentor the new team while creating an exciting, encouraging environment in which they will flourish.

You’ll be an expert in your field, passionate about design with the ability to flex across disciplines ensuring design principles are delivered consistently across channels.



Key Accountabilities

Lead creative work from start to finish, exploring creative directions to produce relevant, engaging designs for brands or campaigns.

Take responsibility for the end-to-end design process, developing style guides for brands and campaigns, ensuring these are delivered consistently across all consumer touch-points including digital, print, branding, and shopper.

Build a great relationship with the Marketing team. Understand their requirement, showcase our services, develop and deliver against design briefs and present back concepts and final proposals.

Line Management of a team of 4 graphic designers: 2 x Middleweights and 2 x Junior Designers.

Work collaboratively with the designers in your team, manage workload, resource availability and delivery to deadlines while constantly stretching creative output. Overall accountability for the performance and delivery of the team.

Establish and maintain the relevant processes necessary to the day-to-day running of a small studio.

Conduct competitor research, benchmarking and be the in-house authority on semiotics and emergent design trends. Produce self-directed work.



Skills & Experience

Extensive experience in the industry with an exciting portfolio including big brands upon which you’ve had a real impact.

Expert knowledge of and ability with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (After Effects desirable).

Articulate, confident and inspiring to others in your team.

An ambition to make the role your own and take creative ownership of projects.

Passionate about great design with a fierce attention-to-detail.

Highly organised with excellent time-management skills.

Strong interpersonal and people management skills.

An understanding of digital projects such as app and web design.

A passion for new and emerging trends in design and technology.
