This full-time position reports to the Managing Editor and is based in New York’s Flatiron District.
The Digital Strategy & Media Team
Group SJR’s Digital Strategy & Media team comprises editorial, audience development and social strategy to support diverse clients. SJR clients include Target, Barneys New York, Ralph Lauren, TED, MPAA, GE and more.
They are looking for a resourceful storyteller who can stay organized and inspired in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate can roll up his/her sleeves to:
Develop and executive an overarching editorial strategy that achieves — and surpasses — client vision
Identify, plan and produce daily content ranging from text articles to infographics and videos
Drive overarching creative strategy, including working with SJR’s in-house studio of designers, videographers and photographers
Interview personalities big and small, including corporate executives and designers on the red carpet
Mentor and groom junior editorial staff to become stronger writers and strategists
Manage client relationships, including participating on calls and driving the editorial review process
The right candidate has a passion for all things lifestyle: design, home improvement, health and wellness and DIY culture. You can move fast (it’s the web, after all) but maintain high editorial standards, a journalistic sensibility and pay attention to detail. You can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary by looking at branded content through a different lens.
You will be successful in this role if you:
Have 5+ years of experience in editing, writing and producing features
Work efficiently and effectively in a deadline-driven environment
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have a thick skin and sense of humor
Can figure things out
