Your role:

As Production Design Artist, you will work on-site in our client’s office to support global packaging designers. Your primary responsibility will be to produce design “masters” from approved product lineups that communicate brand requirements for mechanicals created by local production studios. The position requires a highly-organized, motivated and knowledgable print production expert with a strong design background, keen eye, and acute attention to detail.

You will also take a lead role on brand adherence and understanding/solving production challenges.

Support to Packaging Designers

- Produce packaging master designs of a high standard, both in technical specifications and brand content

- Create and manipulate designs for size and version variances

- Manage and quickly implement adaptive changes or alternate layouts as needed

- In-depth knowledge of cosmetic regulatory guidelines

- Ability to communicate and coordinate with packaging engineers, marketers, engineers, copywriters and outside design agencies

Project Management

- Manage and oversee projects with high volumes

- Follow up on unresolved production issues

Additional responsibilities can include:

- Review and approve printer proofs and mechanicals using web-based workflow software

- Print trial development; create alternate design versions for client review


- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications or similar field required

- 7+ years’ of relevant packaging experience; including adaptive design

- Expert understanding of design and artwork specification for mechanicals

- Good understanding of cosmetic packaging print processes and materials

- Awareness of the pitfalls of packaging design in order to avert issues in production

- Have an exceptional eye for detail and meticulously high quality standards

- Organizational and project management skills required

- Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional communication and collaboration skills

- Conversant with use of digital workflow systems is a plus

- Minor retouching/color correction is a plus

Creative Suite - mainly Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel
