Rocket Science VFX is a multimedia and visual effects company, looking for talented artists for our upcoming slate of projects. Successful candidates will have a firm understanding of film and television and experience integrating 2D, 3D and live action elements in a photo-realistic way.
•Coordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials.
•Develop the graphic elements that meet client objectives.
•Establish guidelines for illustrators or photographers.
•Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements of the subjects to be rendered using traditional tools, multimedia software and image processing, layout and design software.
•Determine the best medium (computer application) best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication.
•Consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials.
•Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides.
•Consult with clients to determine the nature and content of illustrations in order to meet their communication needs.
•Produce 2-D and 3-D animated drawings or computer illustrations.
•Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations.
•Assist in developing storyboards for electronic productions.
•Responsible for integrate 2D, 3D and live action elements in a photo-realistic way.
•Firm understanding of film and television with a strong eye for detail, composition, colour and lighting.
Additional Skills/ Job Requirements:
•Supervise other graphic designers or graphic arts technicians.
•Estimate costs of materials and time to complete graphic designs and illustrations.
•Work in a multidisciplinary environment.
•Adapt existing illustrations.
•Computer graphics or technical special effects.
•Experience in television, film or video production.
•3D Graphic Software.
•Knowledge of 3D Graphic Software (eg. Autodesk Maya; Adobe Suite).
•Knowledge of Nuke; Mental Ray; Vray Houdini, MEL, RSL, or Python a plus
Ability to Supervise:
•3 to 4 people
