Willard Morgan/Ideal Glass is looking for someone with a great vibe, in art administration, maybe experienced as a personal assistant and who can take his artistic work to the next level, and for the rental of his magnificent space.
- Job Purpose/Studio History:
Maintain and expand the rental business of an historical East Village art studio building. The two-bay garage began as a glazier's workshop, in the 1950's, most recently, it was the studio of Gregory Colbert and Moby, the largest Polaroid camera known to man, producing his Nomadic Art Gallery, and the Ashes and Snow exhibits worldwide. The studio manager will maintaining the premises, advertising and finding daily/weekly rental clients, overseeing productions, as well as basic personal assistant tasks of the director.
- Job Duties:
Establishing rental rates for market value,
Publicize and market the availability of the space,
Obtaining referrals, possibly having previous contacts in the video and photography industry,
Contracts with tenants and management during rental,
Basic personal assistant tasks for studio director.
Experienced as a studio manager in New York,
Motivated to expand sales and client base,
Detail-oriented, can take initiative, problem solving,
Ambition to build the business over the years.
Salary is $600 per week and 5% of studio rentals.
