His signature-style can be described as minimalist with very high attention to detail: images which are carefully crafted, sometimes iconic, sometimes stylish, but always convincing as 'real' moments. Thomas directs his in-house retouching artist in the same way: "I am a photographer - please don't make it look like a painting!"
