BossaNovaFilms is one of the five largest production companies in Brazil, specialising in advertising, entertainment, branded content and interactive projects. Recently, the international advertising area produced several campaigns. One of them was shot in Brazil for Mexico Ades/Unilever and the other was shot in Venezuela for Sempre Livre/Johnson & Johnson. Both campaigns are being aired in the Brazilian and Latin American markets.
Gonzo, one of the international directors represented by BossaNovaFilms, also shot Kuat/Coca-Cola and Tang/Kraft Foods commercials, two important production projects for the Latin American and Brazilian markets.
The advertising area developed two projects for the local market. For Chevrolet/GM, Luiz Ferré directed a very innovative retailer campaign containing over 20 commercials, fully inspired by traditional fairy tales, while Ivy Abujamra directed a polemic campaign for the Mix Brazil Film and Video Sexual Diversity Festival.
In the branded content area, director Georgia Guerra-Peixe shot 10 web videos for the launch of the new Ford Fiesta. The company's cinema area has just launched its first feature film, 'The Samba Within Me', also directed by Georgia Guerra-Peixe. The documentary won the Special Jury Prize at the 34th São Paulo International Film Festival.

BossaNovaFilms commercials production
Creative productions and great styles stand out among BossaNovaFilms' latest productions. The commercial "Pinocchio", directed by Luiz Ferré for the National Committee for Self-Regulation Advertising in Brazil, is inspired by 1970s police action films such as "Dirty Harry". The film chase sequence was created with both 3D effects and traditional puppetry techniques.
Another recent production is music video 'Temporary Insanity', created and directed by Ivy Abujamra for the Brazilian singer and comedy actress Marisa Orth. In the video, Marisa performs as a lady who kills her husband during a PMS attack. It was shot in HD, adopts the language of short films, and is aesthetically inspired by Almodóvar’s movies.
BossaNovaFilms is also shooting new seasons for three Brazilian TV shows, producing three feature films and developing a bunch of interactive projects, one of which is currently a finalist for the FITC Awards 2010. Check out “Send Your Love” here. -

BossaNovaFilms wraps up 2009 with significant achievements.
The production company produced a big advertising campaign with 23 commercials promoting the expansion of Sao Paulo's transportation system, 'Expansao Sao Paulo: Metro/CPTM'.
It also completed three different TV show seasons, including 'Harmonize', a 13-part programme that blends special guests with music, gastronomy and beer.
Branded entertainment projects included the second season for Nokia's 'Njornadas2', Seda's 'Entrelaçadas', and recently a 14-episode series for Johnson & Johnson's 'Toque de Mae'.
BossaNovaFilms also signed important international co-production deals for some great projects: a Portuguese co-production for the documentary 'Cresci na Mangueira' (Grew up in Mangueira), the development of the documentary 'Tropicalia' with US and UK companies, and the feature film 'Rio, I Love You' (Rio, Eu Te Amo), from the 'Cities of Love' series created by Ever So Close.
A huge trans-media digital strategy for 'Rio, I Love You' is currently being developed by the company's newly launched interactive division. 2010 promises to be very busy year indeed.

BossaNovaFilms is considered one of the main production companies in Brazil, specialising in advertisement, entertainment and branded content. Besides a solid domestic production structure, the company offers five other branches in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela. Last year, BossaNova won the title of 'Production Company of the Year' at Caboré 2008, the most prestigious prize in the Brazilian film industry.
The film 'Obras', directed by Luiz Ferré and shot in the depths of a 36 metre hole, is among the company's recent productions. It took five days to shoot, requiring a helicopter for aerial scenes and involving 80 people in the production process.
The film forms part of the advertising campaign for Sao Paulo State rail and subway systems, showing the expansion and link work between the two services. Click here to watch the movie and the making-of.
