Our cover was shot by the New York City based photographer Eros Messina from FIZZ Photography who recently completed this illustration project in collaboration with Spanish artist Zulema Galeano.

nyc production/commercial production: NLP PRODUCTIONS

NLP Productions is now offering commercial production along with print production. One of the first commercials produced along with the print was for 'Eau de Rochas'. Shot in Miami by photographer/director Michel Haddi and art direction by Olivier Theyskens.

Next NLP production managed a short film called 'Remember Back Remember When', shot in Marfa Texas, starring Martin Donovan and directed by Rainer Judd, daughter of artist Donald Judd.

Keep a look out for the promos for 'The Green', an eco friendly programming which will air on the Sundance Channel starting May 2007.

Recently produced print campaigns are for Regency Beauty, Target and Talbot's.

nyc production/photo production: INDUSTRIAL COLOR

At Industrial Color, the formula for their success in managing digital capture for the biggest productions all over the world comes from their company culture of leadership and innovation.

In Jan 2007, the company moved into its custom built 30,000 sq. ft. Tribeca facility to support its growing capture operations that include a tier 3 Datacenter, their web-based editing tool GLOBALedit^TM, as well as their sister company Impact Digital - a high-end retouching, pre-media and CGI/3D studio.

GLOBALedit^TM (Version 3 releasing in early 2007) has become the platform of choice for end-to-end digital workflows, allowing users to streamline processes, shorten production cycles, eliminate waste and reduce costs.

In April, they launched their newest undertaking: the M Project Gallery, a 2000 sq. ft gallery showcasing experimentation and innovation in photography and related fields, especially applications of digital technology. M Project Gallery encourages greater interaction among professionals in the fields they serve by inviting creatives with diverse professional experience into an environment that will bring forth the artistic undercurrents in commercial practice. The goal being to challenge the limits of current technology and expand the boundaries of the commercial aesthetic status quo. The results of these interactions will be presented in an ongoing series of exhibitions, installations and lectures and roundtable dinners.

Mission Photo Production is based in New York City and provides a full range of production services.

Mary Pratt, who founded the company in 2000, laughs, 'At this point, it almost doesn't matter where we're based out of; the jobs we do are all over the world - which is a good thing!'

Mission produces ad campaigns, car and fashion shoots. Recent productions include:

• 22-page editorial for Marie Claire Italia, photographed in the Hamptons by René & Jannis
• Two ads for Visa with Tom Nagy and TBWA/CHIAT/DAY in New York City and North Carolina
• Markus Bolsinger's images of the Mercedes Ocean Drive prototype in Texas
• The Land Rover 2 launch campaign in Hawaii with Kai-Uwe Gundlach and Y&R Irvine.

Kim Handley executive produced the 2008 swimwear campaign for Turkish company Zeki in Cuba. Working with a local production company Havana Pictures 'made the shoot a dream'.

With only five days for the complete production and three days of shooting, hiring a local production company was essential and to bring it together in such a short time.

Though based in NYC, fashion photographer Jeff Olson works steadily with clients internationally.

His recent editorial collaborations include fashion features for multiple upcoming issues of the international NEO2 magazine including the April and July covers for which he photographed international fashionista, Cory Kennedy.

His fashion work will also be featured in upcoming issues of Latin American Vogue, Noise, Celeste, Baby,Baby,Baby, Codigo and A4 magazines.

He recently paired up with Sony to photograph-actor Thomas Hayden Church and will be shooting the new Anne Cole campaign for which he has been hired to both photograph and work as creative director with his creative agency @DUO.

Jeff will be the focus of a major feature article for the July issue of Picture Magazine, including their July cover and has also recently been contributing his fine art work to various charities and has become a favourite with many fine art collectors.

Eros Messina's newest work includes the entirety of designer Zac Pozen's 2007 Look Book, showcasing Pozen's elegant bag collection.

Eros continues his relationship with Ford Models Agency, as he teams up with both artists and models alike.

He also contributed to the 2007 edition of Spain's ABC Girona magazine, published by Escucurucuc Publishing house.

Julian Hibbard's latest photo work is a witty campaign for a new hosiery and shoe company to be used worldwide. The shots were taken all over the world from London, New York to Chile.

Described as having 'an amazing conceptual eye and a quirky approach to every subject', Julian is a photographer who makes sure his work stands out.

His work is very cinematic, and he does a tremendous amount background work to the themes he uses - such as his 'Damsel in Distress', 'Caught' and 'Mask' series.

We will be seeing his timeless images for years to come.

Impact Digital, a retouching company known for its award-winning work, including a Gold Effie in 2006 for the Air Jordan XX Nike Campaign, has a new home - in January, the company moved into its custom-built 30,000 sq. ft. Tribeca facility to support its growing operations that include high-end retouching, pre-media, CGI/3D, software development and a tier 3 Datacenter.

Working as an art studio with extensive production capacity, Impact Digital is able to achieve high quality, artistry and consistency on very large projects. They specialise in 'bringing global brands to the highest visual level and managing projects that range from high-profile international campaigns to the experimental work of individual photographers'.

The company integrates with Industrial Color, its sister organisation. Industrial Color is the largest digital capture operation in the world with 50 employees and offices in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

The new LAND ROVER LR2 campaign was shot over 13 days in Hawaii, with Gloss Postproduction working on location alongside the art director, client and photographer. The resulting shots can now be seen billboards and in magazines all over the United States.

The project involved transporting a G5 Mac, calibrated 21" Eizo screen, Imacon Scanner and Epson Proofer with Profiles to guarantee true reference proofs. A retoucher was also flown out. Agency was Y&R Los Angeles, photographer was Kai Uwe Gundlach.

Gloss Postproduction - with offices in Hamburg and Barcelona - recently opened its doors at Union Square in New York. The company offers creative retouching, composing, look development, CGI and colour management.

Clients: Saatchi LA, Y&R LA, Publicis NY, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, Land Rover, Amstel, Procter & Gamble, Christopher Griffith, Warwick Saint and Kai Uwe Gundlach.

nyc talent/artists & stylists: DIANE DASILVA MAKE UP

As a make-up artist, Diane da Silva's successes have spanned eight years within the print, film, and television industries. She has published work in Vanity Fair, Sportswear International, and Nylon magazines, amongst many others. Clients include Neiman Marcus, Toyota, and Reebok.

Todd Eberle and Howard Schatz are among several celebrated photographers to call on Diane's conceptual efforts regularly. Celebrity clients include Tilda Swinton, Jerry Stiller, Cat Power, Mo Rocca, and Donald Sutherland.

Specialising in fashion, beauty, runway, celebrity, portrait, catalogue, swimwear, men's grooming, airbrush, fantasy, character, music, film, video and television, Diane's talents are extremely diverse and delivered with what has been described as 'an undying charisma'.

Open for business for less than a year, 1887 Townhouse has been used in a MasterCard TV commercial, educational videos, short films, an interview backdrop for BBC and PBS documentaries, still shoots for magazines and advertising, and as an event space.

This 13-room Manhattan townhouse is located in the heart of the Central Park West Historic District. It has all architectural details intact, 11-foot-high ceilings, northern and southern light, and spacious rooms decorated in a variety of styles and painted a variety of colours.

It is targeted towards the up and coming advertising, editorial and fashion photographer and is a good advertising platform to reach this all-important market.

Get ready for 'Einzigartig Berlin Day' in New York on 17 May.

Create Berlin and Berlin Partner are organizing the event to celebrate the official opening of 'Destination: Berlin' - the biggest sales exhibition of Berlin design at the MoMA Design Stores.

One of the Berlin Day highlights will be the opening of the 'Koffer aus Berlin' (Suitcase from Berlin) exhibition. The exhibition features the content of suitcases that were especially packed in Berlin and shipped to New York. The work was created by artists and talents such as shooting stars from Berlin's architecture scene Graft, Werner Aisslinger; DJ Paul van Dyk, Berlin product designers Mykita and Zeha; fashion label Kaviar Gauche; and fashion designer Michael Michalsky.

The exhibition will run 17-18 May.
