Welcome to the May edition of Showcase Spain.  

The best of European design and advertising will be judged on 9 June in Barcelona at the ADCE Awards 2007 - read more in our event section below.

LOOP 2007 - also in the Catalonian capital - is on until 3 June. It is the annual meeting point for video art professionals and includes a festival (featuring the work of over 800 artists), a video art fair and panels discussing different aspects of video art.

New Sport: mix of sand-boarding and wake-boarding, shot in South Africa for 3d (1d in bar, 2d in dunes) with two 35-mm cameras and 75 digital stills cams. A new technique - modification of time-slice effect - was used.

They just won a FIAP Bronze for the TV commercial (seen here) by Fernando Mainguyague with Marató Monos BO Brussa.

Augusto de Fraga did a viral TV commercial for Dewar's Whisky for Barcelona agency VillarRosas.

Jose Aragon was commissioned by Levi's Japan to create the latest visuals for the new 501 Limited Edition Tight Fit Straight Jeans. The campaign is a huge success, with more than 300 pairs being sold within a few hours of launch.

Continuing with his strong sense of beauty and his long-term relationship with Natural Cosmetics, Jose has created a powerful series of images with his team and top model YaYa Kusikova.

A recent trip to South Africa has delivered stunning sunset images for the launch of the new Bahia collection for Oriflame.

Commissioned story by stylist Sara Padilla for Spanish GQ and top male model Milan Krouzil explores 'the different shades of grey and the risks of thinking too much'.

Last but not least, a long-awaited collaboration with renowned jewellery designer Helena Rohner has given a fresh, new look to the new collection.

ADCE - the Art Director's Club of Europe - Europe's most important advertising and design awards - now has its online call for entries.

On Saturday 9 June, a jury of over 50 top European creatives chaired by ADCE President Johannes Newrkla will meet at the FAD in Barcelona to judge European award-winning work from among gold, silver, bronze and other award-winners in 19 categories including commercials, TV graphics, advertising, new media, mixed media, promotions, graphic design, photography, packaging and editorial design.

ADCE is the only awards scheme in Europe to invite all the winning work to come together to sit side by side and be judged. Its aim is 'to unite, excite and inspire European creativity and act as a gateway to its respective community'.
