nyc photography/photographers: ANSGAR
Police intervention was necessary to protect Ansgar and his team from the midnight crowd at Times Square, where the photographer produced a new fashion spread. Major Model Mgt. hotshot Amanda Del Valle portrayed famous "Revolutionaries" of the past, ranging from Che Guevara to Mary Magdalene. In one spectacular scene, the crowd, being somewhat "under the influence", mistook the French flag for an anti-American statement. Emotions finally calmed down and hundreds peacefully watched on as Diane da Silva and Seiji Yamader fixed make up and hair. The shoot lasted half the night. Styling was by Emma Pritchard. |

nyc photography/photographers' agents: ONE NAKED EGG One Naked Egg photographer Sabine Scheer grew up in Germany, and is now based in New York. Her work is described as "unique with a whimsical air of order". And people say that you "can't help to fall in love with her visual voice the moment you see her work". The image shown here is not a poodle; it is a Bedlington Terrier, a noble, and somewhat snobbish, English hunting dog… Evidently, Sabine grew up photographing him and he is now her best model. Apparently, whenever the dog sees a camera, he starts posing! |

nyc photography/photographers: TORKIL GUDNASON
Originally from Denmark, Torkil Gudnason approaches photography with what might be described as a no-nonsense, Scandinavian sensibility. His style is simple and graphic. He prefers shooting in color in order to play various hues off one another. When asked to list five things he can’t live without as a photographer, his answer is appropriately succinct: light, light, light, light and more light. |

nyc photography/rental studios photo: PRIMUS Primus was an experiment that actually turned out bigger than envisioned. It was "a rebuttal to the incalculable sameness of rental studios... four white walls and a cyc, standard issue catering and overpriced equipment". It was designed by two photographers who wanted a workspace that would be a photographer's tool, like a certain film or a lighting technique. The studio is old New York industrial in its roots, tempered with artisan wall treatments and modern Italian furnishings. It is a location with the amenities of a full service studio. They say: "Primus is a space that is a muse!" website primus |
