nyc film/film production: NLP PRODUCTIONS NLP Productions is now offering commercial production along with print production. One of the first commercials produced along with the print was for 'Eau de Rochas'. Shot in Miami by photographer/director Michel Haddi and art direction by Olivier Theyskens. Next NLP production managed a short film called 'Remember Back Remember When', shot in Marfa Texas, starring Martin Donovan and directed by Rainer Judd, daughter of artist Donald Judd. Keep a look out for the promos for 'The Green', an eco friendly programming which will air on the Sundance Channel starting May 2007. nyc photography/photo production: INDUSTRIAL COLOR At Industrial Color, the formula for their success in managing digital capture for the biggest productions all over the world comes from their company culture of leadership and innovation.In Jan 2007, the company moved into its custom built 30,000 sq. ft. Tribeca facility to support its growing capture operations that include a tier 3 Datacenter, their web-based editing tool GLOBALeditTM, as well as their sister company Impact Digital - a high-end retouching, pre-media and CGI/3D studio. GLOBALeditTM (Version 3 releasing in early 2007) has become the platform of choice for end-to-end digital workflows, allowing users to streamline processes, shorten production cycles, eliminate waste and reduce costs. In April, they launched their newest undertaking: the M Project Gallery, a 2000 sq. ft gallery showcasing experimentation and innovation in photography and related fields, especially applications of digital technology. M Project Gallery encourages greater interaction among professionals in the fields they serve by inviting creatives with diverse professional experience into an environment that will bring forth the artistic undercurrents in commercial practice. The goal being to challenge the limits of current technology and expand the boundaries of the commercial aesthetic status quo. Working with a local production company Havana Pictures 'made the shoot a dream'. With only five days for the complete production and three days of shooting, hiring a local production company was essential and to bring it together in such a short time. The shots were taken all over the world from London, New York to Chile. Described as having 'an amazing conceptual eye and a quirky approach to every subject', Julian is a photographer who makes sure his work stands out. His work is very cinematic, and he does a tremendous amount background work to the themes he uses - such as his 'Damsel in Distress', 'Caught' and 'Mask' series. nyc photography/post production: GLOSS POSTPRODUCTION The new LAND ROVER LR2 campaign was shot over 13 days in Hawaii, with Gloss Postproduction working on location alongside the art director, client and photographer. The resulting shots can now be seen billboards and in magazines all over the United States. The project involved transporting a G5 Mac, calibrated 21" Eizo screen, Imacon Scanner and Epson Proofer with Profiles to guarantee true reference proofs. A retoucher was also flown out. Agency was Y&R Los Angeles, photographer was Kai Uwe Gundlach. |

Create Berlin and Berlin Partner are organizing the event to celebrate the official opening of 'Destination: Berlin' - the biggest sales exhibition of Berlin design at the MoMA Design Stores. One of the Berlin Day highlights will be the opening of the 'Koffer aus Berlin' (Suitcase from Berlin) exhibition. The exhibition features the content of suitcases that were especially packed in Berlin and shipped to New York. The work was created by artists and talents such as shooting stars from Berlin's architecture scene Graft, Werner Aisslinger; DJ Paul van Dyk, Berlin product designers Mykita and Zeha; fashion label Kaviar Gauche; and fashion designer Michael Michalsky. The exhibition will run 17-18 May. |
