  Cool Banana had the privilege of producing Siemens 'Greener' in Istanbul, Mumbai and Johannesburg. The Siemens drawing project documents how kids from these cities envisage a futuristic 'Greener' world through their own drawings. These heart warming images were captured by Mariella Furrer and produced in each city by Cool Banana.

  Other projects include campaigns for Paul Rosen S/S 2012, Leo Guy S 2012, Park Avenue S/S 2012, as well as catalogues for YKM department store S/S 2012, Kids Interiors and 360 degrees Kuwait.

  Cool Banana rounded off 2010 wonderfully with what is turning out to be a great start to the season. Highlights include:

  • Adidas arrived with Catherine Garcia to shoot a global 2011 spring/summer in-store campaign (check out the Louvre store in Paris).
  • Chris Craymer (Mulberry, Glamour, Crash) came over from New York to shoot the new Dove soap campaign.
  • Vanity Fair Italia and Nino Munoz (True Religion, Vogue, Gisele Bundchen) shot actor Raoul Bova (Under the Tuscan Sun, The Tourist).
  • Leonardo Bigagli shot menswear brand Keep Wild before their show at Pitti Immagine Uomo this month in Florence.

  Cool Banana has welcomed a diverse selection of advertising clients to Cape Town so far this season, including Nikon, L&M cigarettes, Amplifon and Star Beer. Italian fashion clients Roy Rogers, Sara and Date were also in town. The campaigns for these shoots aren’t yet out, but featured in this Showcase are a few exclusive behind the scenes shots.

  Latest news from Cool Banana:

  • Nokia and Lowe Worldwide visited South Africa with photographer Rami Hanafi. This enormous two-week production was shot for the Sub-Saharan Africa and Middle Eastern markets, and saw between 30 and 150 people on set daily. The variation and uniqueness of the markets offered a rewarding challenge to all those involved, as all casting and wardrobe were sourced locally in Cape Town, while locations varied from a rural wheat field and a fishing boat to city streets, parks, cafes, universities, offices and houses. Styling: Nicci Thackwell. Hair and make-up: Nino Allegro.
  • British Airways and Barclaycard have introduced a new credit card. Impact BBDO came to Cape Town to shoot the campaign with photographer Igor Polzenhagen.
  • The original Greek Ouzo 12 (now owned by Campari), required a beautiful beach to shoot its latest campaign. Naturally, Cape Town was the choice! Photographer: Hendrik Nennecke. Styling: Nicky van Eck. Hair: Melre Titus. Make-up by Nikkila Mann.

  Cool Banana travelled recently to one of the remotest parts of Africa with Elle Italia. Photographer David Burton and his brave team of trailblazers, stylist Sofia Odero and hair & make-up artist Pedro Pianto, flew to a unique destination in the middle of the Makgadikgadi salt plains in Botswana. David shot two editorials for the May and June issues, one with model Lousie Herold and the other with Carmen Maria Hillestad.

  Italian swim and beachwear manufacturer Calzedonia was in South Africa for the first time to shoot a 2008 summer catalogue with photographers Nico Bustos and David Burton. Styling was done by Italian Elle stylist Carola Bianchi, with hair & make-up by Augusto Picerni. Models Brigitte Swidrack, Elsa Hosk, Dominique Piek and Jeniffer Lamiraqui got their feet wet along Cape Town's beautiful white beaches.

  Motorola was in Cape Town on the African-leg of its world tour, shooting the Middle East and Africa image campaign with renowned photographer Peggy Sirota. The enormous production was shot over a week, with the photographer's high-profile team including stylist Michael Nash and hair & make-up artist Johnny Hernandez.
