Alexander Koch recently completed photo shoots for a variety of publications based in Lisbon.

His 'Insular' exhibition was inaugurated in November and has proved a great success.

A new Berlin-based photo studio is planned for 2009, with the aim of connecting western and central Europe through structures established in Lisbon.

Alexander is a partner in the Megabox athlete agency that recently opened an office in Berlin.

Alexander Koch began working in photography at the age of 15, and was assistant to Will McBride, Clive Davis, Josef Moran and Dilip Meta, among others. Since opening his first studio in 1983, he has worked in advertising, architecture, fashion, industrial photography and reportage, as well as for Reuters and Magnum.

In 1994 he moved to Portugal, first to Porto and then four years later to Lisbon where he set up a high-powered studio and led a production, art direction and postproduction team. His CV includes illustrious names such as Absolut Vodka, Mercedes, Levis, and Hugo Boss, along with various solo and collective exhibitions in England, Germany, Israel and Portugal.

In recent months he has focused on fashion and editorial work, seeking to show new forms of light and capture in the advertising sector. Some of his most recent clients include the magazines Zoot, N-Style, V-Magazine, Vogue and UP (TAP), as well as agents such as McCann, BBDO and Young & Rubicam. At the start of 2008 he created Megabox, an agency to represent athletes for cinema and advertising work, and an official partner of the Olympic Committee.

Alexander Koch is currently undergoing a major expansion to offer its services to clients in the international marketplace. This includes recommencing operations in England, Spain, and Germany.

The company is aiming to widen its international image whilst maintaining its logistical back-up for productions in Portugal. The country offers outstanding locations and a perfect climate, making it the ideal base for client requirements.

Alexander Koch has been working as a professional photographer since 1983. His work ranges from advertising, architecture, fashion and industrial photography to photo-reports and artwork. Throughout his career he has collaborated with some of the best known advertising agencies , shooting campaigns for brands such as Absolut Vodka, Mercedes, Levi's and Hugo Boss. In parallel with his commercial work, he has been showing several individual and collective art exhibitions in galleries and museums in Britain, Germany, Israel and Portugal. In 1998, he opened his Lisbon studio, featuring a production, art-direction and post-production team as well as a digital department.
