Photographer Stephen Ward enjoys juxtaposing portrait and fashion photography with landscapes, and is passionate about 'pure photography' - photography that doesn't need to rely on digital tricks and retouching.

"I try to keep things really simple and concentrate on constantly perfecting my technique. A lot of photography dehumanises the subject, but I try to let it be what it is."

This approach has led to Stephen being commissioned by many of the leading Australian advertisers, including The Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Coca-Cola, Macquarie Bank, Westfield, The NSW Tourism Board, Myer and OPSM. His work with fashion labels David Lawrence, Jack and Jac, Akira Isogawa, Easton Pearson, Yeojin Bae, Marcs and Dion Lee has positioned him in an enviable position, able to cross between the world of fashion into the demands of mainstream corporate advertising.

Stephen is currently working on a collaboration of images with Yoji Yamamoto. He resides in Sydney.
