Daniel Pinheiro Sao Paulo photographers

Daniel Pinheiro graduated in Environmental Law at PUC-RJ. His career in photography began by taking revealing pictures of street dwellers in Rio. Over the period of a year he documented the same group, ending with a photo exhibition at a public school in the suburbs of Rio.

Under the influence of renowned Brazilian photographer Walter Firmo, Daniel developed his emphasis on spontaneity, blending colours with the emotional portrayal of people and the beauty of light. Under his mentor's tutelage, he applied his skills to fashion photography: “Walter taught me how to become a painter with the camera,” Daniel says.

Working in the fields of portraiture, fashion, people, lifestyle, editorial and advertising, in 2004 Daniel exhibited a collection of personal work for his first individual show at São Paulo's Galeria Estação. Entitled 'Sonhação', the theme focused on the traditional Brazilian Folk Party.

Maintaining his critical overview, Daniel conceived a fashion editorial around the same subject. Published as 'The Revolutionary Fashion View' in Key Magazine, the piece was considered a turning point for Brazilian fashion editorials.
