Xiang Sun was born in Shanghai in 1984. He moved to Paris in 2004 and started modelling. In the autumn of 2008 at a fashion show in Paris, Sun borrowed a camera from a friend, and snapped a shot. And just like that, he discovered his eye for capturing those provocative moments that are the heartbeats of fashion.
In 2009, Karl Lagerfield appointed Sun as the official backstage photographer for both his namesake brand and Chanel. It became evident that the young photographer’s talent extended well beyond suspending the unpremeditated backstage instants.
Since then, Sun has been working in his adopted hometown, Shanghai, doing reportage, portraits, editorial and commercial work. His photography can be seen in ANOTHER, Vogue China, Bazaar UK, GQ, and countless other fashion publications.
