Primus
Primus was an experiment that actually turned out bigger than envisioned. It was "a rebuttal to the incalculable sameness of rental studios... four white walls and a cyc, standard issue catering and overpriced equipment".
It was designed by two photographers who wanted a workspace that
would be a photographer's tool, like a certain film or a lighting
technique. The studio is old New York industrial in its roots,
tempered with artisan wall
treatments and modern
Italian furnishings. It is a location with the amenities of
a full service studio.
That's why photographer James
Russell chose Primus for his French client. Using his
creativity and lighting skills, James made beautiful images for the
PLD lingerie campaign.
They say: "Primus is a space that is a muse!"
