    London: Lis Parsons

"Every day is different," which is what Lis Parsons enjoys most about shooting a range of food and lifestyle briefs for a variety of different clients. Whether shooting from her London studio or on location - often fighting the elements trying to capture a summer's day in the Great British weather - Lis' enthusiasm for the subject always comes through in her photography.

She is currently working on the new Nigella Lawson title that is due out late 2010. This has given her the opportunity to shoot a mix of food and lifestyle portraiture, which has become a large part of her work. Lis has worked with many chefs including shooting Gordon Ramsay's 'Kitchen Heaven' book and his feature for The Times Magazine for over three years.

Lis has a fantastic team of prop stylists, home economists and make-up artists and can assemble a team to suit each brief. To see more work or to discuss a particular job, call her directly on +44 (0)7932 013 751 or visit her website.

    Chicago: Mike Boatman

Some of the images featured in this Spotlight were produced in a broom closet sitting on top of cleaning supplies.

"The following offerings are not studio, food-styled produced images and are not retouched," says Mike Boatman. "All of them are real food creations plated by the chef, on location, using only available props. Many were produced as the food was being served and all were photographed in less than an hour and most in under 15 minutes; not hours like in the studio."

However, studio food photography has and is a prominent item on Mike's photographic menu for clients such as Tyson Foods, Sara Lee Corporation, Bryan Food, Jimmy Dean Sausage, Holiday Inn, St. Clair Foods, Embassy Suites and The Madison Hotel.

When the application calls for photography to be of real food with the most exotic of chefs or locations, there are very few that can match Mike Boatman.
