    Shooting in his studio with a fully equipped kitchen, as well as out on location, he supplements his team with assistants, stylists and home economists as required.

    "Food photography can be very technically challenging whilst also offering a great opportunity to think outside the box and take an artistic approach," says Andrew. Working in London, he specialises in food and drink and uses locations and studios that are appropriate for each project. Bill's work can be roughly split into two main areas: design and editorial. Projects for design companies have included food packaging, PR and advertorials, while projects for editorial clients have included cookbooks and magazine food articles.

    Munich - London: food art factory  

    Klaus-Maria Einwanger is a food photographer with studios in both Munich and London.

    The photos featured in this Spotlight show a range of images produced for the GU publishing house and its book 'Frankreich - die Küche die wir lieben'. The project took an entire year to complete, with Klaus travelling throughout France to shoot both on location and in the studio.

    "Realising this project has been a real challenge and has included getting to know many interesting people and profiting from a lot of new impressions," says Klaus. He is happiest working with people who really believe in what they do, capturing their enthusiasm and communicating it through his imagery.

    Featured in this Spotlight is one of the 24 images created by Jose Manuel Vidaurre for the Miller 'Be Part Of It/ It's Miller Time' global campaign, currently being launched across 68 countries.

    Jose was first hired by the agency to develop photographic concepts based on the keywords 'refreshing', 'cosmopolitan', 'glowing', 'heroic', 'energetic' and 'premium'. After approval of the conceptual layouts, Jose was commissioned to create the final extremely high resolution files required for oversized billboards along with a vast array of other media.

    Bremen: Kai Schwabe  

    Kai Schwabe has spent a number of years successfully shooting for leading food manufacturers and advertising agencies. His clients include Maggi, Kraft, Philadelphia, Jacobs, Tassimo, Alberto, Dr. Oetker, Edeka and Rewe, who all appreciate his professional approach to layout and briefs along with his technical expertise. In winter 2010 he photographed summer BBQ images as well as a fancy cake shoot.

    Working alongside a team of talented food stylists and assistants, Kai develops high quality images that appeal to the appetite. Featured in this Spotlight is a range of new flavours of “Philadelphia with Milka“ from Kraft Foods.

    Kai’s 500 m² daylight studio is located in the centre of Bremen. A master of different lighting techniques, he can quickly create a range of subtle moods according to the individual needs of each client.

    Mikkel Adsbol has been a photographer for 10 years. He has a great passion for food and works for many of the leading Danish advertising firms and magazines. His 180 m² Copenhagen-based studio is equipped with a large professional kitchen designed by chefs, for chefs.

    "Food is an amazing field to work in because food speaks to several senses at once," says Mikkel. "The ultimate challenge is to shoot food in a way that almost brings the aromas out in the picture; after all, a food shot is never just a food shot. It can make a big difference whether the photo is for an editorial medium or a commercial client. It's a gift to be allowed to convey the sensuous pleasure that food by definition possesses. Food is, after all, about pleasure, social relations, mouth-watering delights and energy for the body. It's great to work in such a life-affirming area".
