Bastian Werner was born in 1975 in Opladen. After serving an apprenticeship as an ad specialist in Düsseldorf, he attended university of applied sciences in Dortmund to study photography from 1998 to 2003.

During that time he also worked as an assistant to several international photographers. Since then he works as a freelance photographer mostly in the advertsing industry.
