While attending a one-year photography class in Bogota, a friend recommended Krum Rodriguez watch Vincent Gallo’s 'Buffalo 66', which sparked intense curiosity in film-making and later led him to find his true passion in pursuing a professional career as a cinematographer. The visceral bond between light, colours, composition and movement formed a fundamental part of his learning process and has served as an infinite source of inspiration ever since.
After graduating from the National Theater and Film Academy in Sofia in 2005, Krum started landing different jobs on set and was part of many film crews before he finally decided to move on and dedicate himself to full-time cinematography.
Working in a diversity of long and short form productions ranging from commercial TV spots to feature films, he has developed a versatility in a variety of work conditions, leading to a visual aesthetic that combines simplicity and effectiveness.
His fiction work has been part of the official selections of many of the world’s top festivals, including Sundance, San Sebastian, Toronto TIFF, Tokyo IFF, Rotterdam and Locarno, among others.
