Trunk Archive New York take offline

Trunk Archive is pleased to announce the exclusive representation of Ellen von Unwerth for worldwide image licensing.

Ellen's artistic adventures began by joining the travelling Circus Roncalli in Germany. Shortly thereafter she was scouted by an agent and moved to Paris to pursue a career in modelling. While she was both a runway and print success, it wasn't long before she found herself behind the camera. Ellen gained widespread notoriety for photographing Claudia Schiffer for Guess Jeans in 1989, launching the first of many prolific careers in the industry, as well as her own.

She has published numerous books and photo-novellas and her work has been published in countless magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Interview, The Face, Arena, L'Uomo Vogue and i-D. Highlights from her client list include campaigns for Dior, Chanel, Miu Miu, MAC Cosmetics and Baccarat; commercials for Revlon, Clinique and Equinox, as well as collaborations with Rihanna, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Duran Duran and Britney Spears.

Ellen received First Prize at the 1991 International Festival of Fashion Photography. Additionally, she has been featured multiple times on American Photo's 100 Most Important People in Photography.
