You`ll be exceptionally good at responding to client briefs (from global brands mostly), collaborating with other experienced members of the creative team, throwing your ideas about before grabbing a marker pen and drawing up beautiful scamps.
You definitely need to be able to draw. Mac`s are plentiful in the studio, but pen and paper is where your ideas will start to come to life. You`ll work as team, but take a lead on your projects. You`ll be an excellent conceptual designer, you`ll have decent illustration skills, and you`ll be able to take these concepts from low res to high res as and when required (although you`ll have a team of exceptional designers/artworkers to help with this).
As Art Director you`ll work closely with the Account Management team and present the story` of your creative work to the client in a way that`s engaging and inspiring. Equally, you`ll be an inspirational and engaging character in the studio, like the rest of the team. You won`t be worked sweatshop hours, you`ll work hard and produce award winning work, but you`ll have masses of fun while you do it.
The successful Art Director / Senior Creative will need to demonstrate a portfolio with 4 or 5 key campaigns / pieces of work that tell a story from brief to finished product including scamps to demonstrate your thought processes.
Your execution needs to be excellent, as does the idea behind each piece of work.
