BBC Global News is currently seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join their team based in London.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, Consumer and Business, you will be the brand champion for bbc.com and will devise and implement a digital consumer marketing strategy that is in line with the strategic objectives and traffic growth targets of the business. With a global focus (ex-UK) you will develop innovative and creative ways to acquire new users, retain existing ones and ensure that BBC.com/news communicates with consumers across all relevant digital and mobile platforms.
You will be responsible for driving convergence across platforms, using owned media on the site to strengthen the association between the TV and digital products and take responsibility for the promotion of the site and digital products on the BBC World News TV channel.
You will be responsible for marketing the BBC News App, using paid, owned and earned media to drive downloads and help drive performance.
You will work closely with the social media editorial team to offer marketing input into content strategy and identify and promote shareable content
You will also work closely with the data analytics team to understand the performance of the site and digital products and also with
Digital Ad Sales to understand their priorities, and use marketing activity to help deliver GNL’s commercial and performance objectives.
The Ideal Candidate
Success in this role relies on the candidate possessing first rate digital marketing skills and expert knowledge of industry developments, both in terms of digital marketing and digital news provision. The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience in a similar role managing marketing initiatives in the digital space. You will have delivered cross-platform digital marketing campaigns which will have included search, SEO, display, video social media and mobile. Excellent communication skills, with strong presentation skills are essential, and the ability to influence colleagues of differing seniority is key to this role.
You will have a genuine passion for international news and current affairs industry, as well as commercial awareness and good understanding of the brand and the market place.
