Job Description
A high-energy, fast-paced company is looking for a full time Manager for our Compression/Post Production Department. We are looking for a person who is a team player and can handle multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt, solve problems, work independently, work with staff, communicate clearly both written and verbally, is detail oriented, has exceptional time management and can work under pressure. The company offers comprehensive services for major content providers like film studios, television networks and corporate clients who publish and market media for global distribution.

The Manager, Compression/Post Production oversees day-to-day operations of the video compression and audio and
video post production groups and manages all related technical requirements and infrastructure.

Maintains equipment and infrastructure related to video compression and audio and video post-production, such as managing tape decks, encoders, server storage and software upgrades
Recommends equipment and software updates as necessary to improve department performance and efficiency
Develops and revises procedures and training related to compression and post-production
Determines when to outsource projects and services and manages vendor relationships
Manages schedules of compression and post-production equipment
Conducts research and development and testing when necessary to pursue new business
Manages members of compression and post-production staff (approving timesheets, conducting performance appraisals etc.)
Communicates with members of production staff in order to properly prioritize and manage project requirements and schedules
Provides editing and compression services when necessary

Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university)
