Hearst Magazines is seeking a candidate with a strong background in motion and graphic design to help lead creative direction across the company short-form videos. Those with additional experience in 2D illustration and video editing, and an interest in tech, are especially encouraged to apply.

• Drive creative direction for the company magazine’s videos, ensuring alignment to overall brand direction
• Work with a team of video editors to breakdown the elements of a story or set of statistics and recreate them in a visually engaging, creative way
• Evolving the company brand standards and visual identity
• Review proofs of work for quality control
• Review video performance across various platforms such as Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter to identify design best practices
• Create high quality editorial videos across multiple Hearst Magazine brands

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience with common motion design tools Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Excellent typography and design skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills along with keen attention to detail
• Ability to handle tight deadline pressures well
