Posted 11-03-2016, offered

The Microsoft Dynamics NAV team is a large multidisciplinary team whose charter is to design and build world-class business software experiences that are desirable, thoughtful, consistent, and easy-to-use. Our goal is to ensure full integration of brand, user interface, graphic design, usability, functionality, and business strategy.

We design and build comprehensive products for managing sales, purchasing, financials, operations, reporting, and much more, for both desktop, web, tablets, phones, and Office platforms. All as part of our mission to empower people and organizations around the world to achieve more, by reinventing how software helps businesses get started, grow, and succeed.

Are you a talented Visual Designer who can help us bring our next big ideas to life? Then here’s a great career opportunity for you. We are looking for a skilled designer to envision, develop and implement the look and feel of the various aesthetic and UI-related graphic elements in our products as well as help design and implement a cohesive visual brand, brought to life using motion and depth. You must be able to think at both the “big picture” and the pixel level to help articulate and define the design aesthetic through rapid, ‘lo-fi to hi-fi’ iteration. You should have a fresh, current, design aesthetic with an impeccable eye for graphic design, color and motion expressed through a confident mixing of 2D, 2.5D and 3D approaches.

You will work closely with other Designers, Design Researchers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers in a highly collaborative environment focused on building the next generation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV products and experiences. This position requires excellent design, communication, and organization skills, and the ability to work across teams. You'll also be expected to quickly broaden your technical understanding as new technologies become available.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Create fresh, performant, and compelling graphic elements and animations balancing strong aesthetics with clear functionality
-Create motion design that brings informational graphics, data and concepts to life with clarity, impact and fun, mixing 2D, 2.5D and 3D techniques
-Provide creative and innovative solutions to complex visual and interaction problems that are easy to comprehend and implement
-Visual development: create sketches, storyboards, wireframes, walk-throughs and paper prototypes to communicate your design to the team
-Iterate in low fidelity to arrive at the best possible design, then execute at increasingly high fidelity to create and deliver shipping quality visuals and content
-Contribute in all phases of product development including hands-on crafting of experiences, designing and creating final visual elements

Primary Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience in media and design with an emphasis on graphic design, motion-graphics, and some user interface visualization
-3+ years of experience and proficiency in mainstream, high-end 2D/2.5D package (e.g. Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator) to prototype UX solutions
-Good understanding of web technologies, primarily HTML5 and CSS3
-Experience designing/creating UI/UX for multiple device platforms (iOS, Android, Windows)
-Ability to create a variety of visual design documents including mood boards, storyboards, wireframes, motion studies, and visual style guidelines
-Excellent sense of detail and ability to seek out simple solutions to complex design challenges
-Good communication, collaboration, time-management and organizational skills
-BA/BS in Graphic Design, Illustration, UI/UX, Digital Media Design & Production, or related field/discipline
