Lennette Newell is one of the country’s leading animal photographers, but that doesn’t mean her work fits neatly into a box. While Lennette shoots oodles of dogs and cats for pet-centric clients like Eukanuba and Iams, she also has a passion for fashion, fine art and lifestyle photography. Her 'Ani-Human Project' explores new territory, indulging both her passion for the beautiful character of animals and her flair for uncommon art.
Working with a master body-painter and some very adventurous models, Lennette has developed an incredibly unique series pairing some wild creatures with their human analogues.
Internationally acclaimed, Lennette specialises in animal and lifestyle imagery for advertising and corporate clients, her work has garnered awards from American Photography, Graphis, Hasselblad Masters, International Photography Awards and PDN.
Lennette lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and works out of Smashbox studios in LA. Her extended family includes an Abyssinian named Red and a Boxer called Greta. She is represented by Zahara Reps.

Lennette Newell has created award-winning studio and location imagery for 20+ years. From infants to teens, she catches the innocence of her subjects and their wonderment of the world, whether they are discovering their toes for the first time or finding that blue and yellow make green.
Lennette waits for the moment of awe or the sheer joy that comes from petting a dog or jumping on the bed…and then lets the shutter click. Her passion for capturing the essence of her subjects has been showcased for clients including Procter & Gamble, Del Monte, Nintendo, Purina, Clorox and Leap Frog.
She has been recognised with awards from Graphis, American Photography, PDN, International Photography Awards and Hasselblad Masters.
