- The AOP Photographers Awards will take place on Wednesday 19th March at Sadlers Wells. Tickets are on sale from January.
Our cover photo was shot by Kiran Master, represented by Burnham Niker. The series is from an award winning campaign for Barnardo's childrens' charity.

You might recognise the Pit-Bull shot from the cover of Creative Review's photography annual; it was taken by Nick Georghiou. As with the shot of St. Wayne that dominated the press in 2006/07, Nick has again managed to create one of the year's most memorable images.
It's been a great year all round for Wyatt-Clarke & Jones; this Showcase features work from Nadege Meriau, Larry Dunstan, Lol Keegan, Peer Lindgreen and Adam Hinton, for clients including Honda, Playstation, Dunhill and O2.

A round up of the latest news from the Sharon Brandman Agency:- Ian Boddy has been busy shooting for Tescos, IPC, and Seven. He was also involved in an exciting reality TV show that looked to find a "yummy mummy". The show is due to be aired in February.
- Richard Seymour has been busy shooting a brand new lifestyle book which is now complete and ready to view.
- Marie Louise Avery has been busy shooting lots of tasty food for her many regular design and advertising clients.
- Carlo Miari Fulcis has been shooting in America for Brooks bros.
- Award-winning photographer Paul Bussell joined the agency in December, and the company is very excited to be representing him.

A round up of latest news from the Gill Turner agency:
- Tim O'Sullivan's recent jobs included the Nintendo Christmas campaign with Karmarama, featuring Patrick Stuart, Julie Walters, and Zoe and Johnny Ball amongst others. He also completed a shoot for Churchill for WCRS.
- The agency's newest addition, David Short, has been very busy with both personal shoots and commissioned work for clients including Sony Ericsson for Iris, Bravissimo, Olympus, and Chester Barrie.
- Christopher Pillitz has just returned from a two month trip to India where he has been working on a commissioned travel book. He is now in the process of editing more than 4000 images!
- Matt Stuart has been busy with personal work and is due to present a talk on street photography next month at the Museum of the City in New York. His commissioned work has included jobs for Christies and Conran Restaurants.

World-class photographer Clive Arrowsmith had a very busy winter shooting for a mix of editorial and advertising clients. Portraits included the cover of FHM Russia, and a shoot with Girls Aloud for the cover of Live Magazine. The record company loved the pictures, and are now using them for worldwide PR.
On the fashion and advertising side, De Beers booked Clive for a high security beauty shoot; photographing the Ponahalo diamond necklace, worth $15 million! Clive's Woodstock fashion story will be in Highlights Magazine, Spring 08.

Lorentz Gullachsen: London advertising photographers
Lorentz Gullachsen has been busy shooting logistic scenes; a series of motorway images was commissioned by Propaganda for Cert Octavia, a premium logistics company.
Photographing wine bottles worth over £1000 concentrates the mind, but after a hard day's shoot a less expensive Vin Ordinaire was enough to relax with.
Other projects include shooting cattle, rugby players and girls, and in this edition the photographer also shows us samples from his skies collection.

A busy 2007 ended with Allan McPhail shooting five ads for Volvo's "Life is better lived together" global campaign. The 'Road Trip' style called upon the photographer's talent to shoot both cars and people in five different locations across California.
Allan continues to work with agencies across the UK to promote tourism for Britain in both the national and international markets.
Teaming up with Steve Ebsworth form Digital City, Allan now provides his clients with the option to produce computer generated cars alongside conventional photography to answer more challenging briefs.

The concept allows photographers to make their own professional prints in retouching booths using Mac pro's and EIZO monitors, Photoshop CS3, Capture One pro and print digital C-type archival prints, Epson Giclees, and CMYK proofs.
The philosophy at theprintspace is to give creative control back to photographers. The equipment is calibrated and colour managed, and Internet ordering will also be available as of 1st March.
The print prices are low, with C-type 12" x 16" prints for £6.50 + VAT.

Select Magazine, the photographic showcase for assignment photography, will shortly release Showcase 61.
Select Showcase is taking a close look at London's East End and is set to uncover its new creative talent. Included in their research will be Shoreditch House, the latest addition to the Soho House range of clubs - an ambitious development that includes bars, restaurants, lounges, and a roof-top swimming pool. Shoreditch House will be brimming with creative talent from all over London.
This is the first time in nearly 10 years that Select has featured the capital, and everyone who is anyone in British photography will be in this issue.

Latest news from the Photographer's Gallery:
The four shortlisted photographers for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize are: John Davies, Jacob Holdt, Esko Männikkö and Fazal Sheikh. The exhibition of the nominated artists' work will run between 8th February and 6th April, 2008, at the Photographers' Gallery, with the winner of the prize being announced on Wednesday 5th March, 2008.
The Photographers' Gallery is to have a new home in the heart of Soho in 2010. The new Gallery will have double the current exhibition space, provide state of the art technology for education, have a new on-line resource centre and a street level café and bar. It will be designed by internationally acclaimed architects O'Donnell + Tuomey, and is set to be their first major UK commission.Read more

National Portrait Gallery: London photo events
Some of the greatest portrait photographs of the twentieth century were taken for, or published in, Vanity Fair. This exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery features 150 classic images of significant people in art, film, music, sport, business and politics, from the magazine's early period (1913-36) to its subsequent re-birth in 1983.
Works by legendary photographers such as Edward Steichen and Cecil Beaton are shown alongside those of celebrated modern-day photographers such as Annie Leibovitz and Mario Testino.
With subjects as diverse as Claude Monet, Cary Grant and Madonna, Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008 will, from 14th February to 26th May, 2008, present an exceptional range of photographic portraiture from the early years of the twentieth century to the present day.
