Up and coming shoots:
As winter departs, Steel Productions looks back on a busy "off-season". Photographer Tom Nagy wall-papered the hull of a 120ft boat for Evonik, while Chris Dawes shot Blacks and Millets, enjoying great mid-winter sunshine in the city and 2ft of snow in the mountains. Microsoft successfully completed the South African leg of its 17-country campaign, shot by Richard Renaldi on his beautiful 8x10 setup.
The Steel team is thrilled to have former production manager Nolan Hooper on board as a full time coordinator. Clients can now contact Caryn, Andre and Nolan for information and production assistance in English, and Manuela for German and French inquiries.
Steel Productions looks forward to welcoming back old faces and meeting new ones; the team is ready for the summer and raring to go with its (lucky!) 13th production season. The season ahead promises "great weather, lots of new locations and a bevy of beauty-slept models."

Cape Town Productions has been extremely productive during the winter months, updating its locations database, scouting fresh locations and negotiating favourable rates with suppliers on its clients behalf.
In July, Euro Connection produced an incredible campaign for Belgian designer Dirk Bikkembergs with photographer Luc Willame. The results will be featured on Production Paradise next year.
In April, Euro Connection produced the Henri Lloyd autumn/winter 2008 campaign, with creative director Krister Appelfeldt and photographer Lars Strandberg. They shot around Cape Town and in Aquila Private Game Reserve, two hours from the city. The reserve offers an authentic African 'Big 5' safari experience.
The sun is out and the shooting season has begun, with photographer Paul Bellaart and his team shooting for Playboy Holland.
Euro Connection is constantly looking to improve its client services. In Cape Town, the company can offer new location and production options and is equipped to successfully manage any level of photo production.
End of season highlights:
Given its resources and established infrastructure, Cape Town is the perfect base from where Nomad can provide all types of shoot with the necessary tools to succeed. These resources, along with Nomad's personalised and excellent service, are extended to all of Africa's incredible locations. This success is due to the "No problem" attitude lived by the Nomad team.
Nomad has produced many exciting and challenging advertising and catalogue shoots over the past three seasons, including Visa Card (UK), Clark's Shoes (UK), Hummer (USA), Peugeot (Belgium), Fortis Bank (Germany), Sympani Insurance (Sweden), Siemens (Germany), Jupiler Beer (Belgium), Otto (Germany), Dorothy Perkins (UK) and Prima Donna (Belgium).
Bigsky Productions completed international shoots in its more tropical coastal locations of Mozambique and Kenya.
Kenya is a fabulous location alternative, with flawless weather most of the year round. Editorial client Zest Magazine and catalogue client Lalesso made use of the spectacular natural locations. Click on the video link for a fun 'behind the scenes' video.
Mozambique was an ideal location for Puma, offering an authentic African football backdrop for the "Peace One Day" campaign.
Summer has finally returned to Cape Town, and with many confirmations already it looks as if it will be a busy season for Bigsky.
The South African winter season was filled with catalogue and editorial shoots for BLM Productions.
Norwegian clients Voice Norge dominated the winter turn out, and the company was fortunate enough to utilise the beautiful Durban winter weather to shoot the autumn and winter campaigns for several brands. Starting in the Drakensberg mountain range and working down to the Mtentu "Red Desert" in the Eastern Cape, a truly breathtaking part of South Africa provided a stunning backdrop.
The company also stopped at Tala Game Reserve with Norwegian Elle for a big autumn production with Gyslan Yahri and Petra Middelthon.
Durban, Namibia or Mauritius might only be a short flight from Cape Town but they can seem worlds apart when it comes to shooting.
That's why Freelink has partnered up with local specialists in these exotic locations to offer clients the same level of service and support they've come to expect but in the most breath-taking new locations.
When Christine Le Clos revealed these developments during her annual European migration, the response from her clients was overwhelming.
"With these exciting new location options and a favourable exchange rate, things are shaping-up for a real bumper season," said Christine.

Latest news from Otlaws Model Agency:
95 Keerom is a "seriously stylish" dining destination, where old rubs shoulders with the new (the restaurant building is one of the oldest in the city), and well-groomed waitrons ensure a seamless experience.
Northern Italian cuisine is the focus, and Giorgio Nava's single-mindedness in keeping things simple with the best quality produce is exemplary. The fact that he has a fishing boat that catches the restaurant's seafood specials and farms organic produce is certainly testimony to this!
Favourites such as the risotto and the much-loved sliver-thin carpaccio with parmesan are the stars of the menu, while specials can include anything from oxtail to rabbit. Superb Italian and local wines complement a fine dining experience.
