With a career spanning over a decade, Amanda Austin’s photographic edge is a balance of technical insight and unique sensitivity to the world around her. Winning a scholarship to photography collage based on her folio of intimate portraits and travel landscapes, she quickly moved into shooting fashion, beauty and portraits for some of Australia’s - and the world's - most renowned clients and publications.
Known for creating real spontaneity and authenticity within her work, coupled with a strong technical acumen and sharp instinct for creative direction, Amanda’s work has been acclaimed by a diverse array of clients such as Harper's Bazaar Australia, Frankie Magazine, Sass and Bide, Tome NYC, Myer, Portmans, Sportsgirl, Elle Korea, The Smith Journal, Sunday Magazine, Good Weekend, Shop Til You Drop, Remix, Cleo, Cosmopolitan and D:fuse China, amongst many others.
A semi-finalist in the prestigious 'Head On' portrait prize in 2012 and a limited edition book of personal portraits exclusive to Standard Bookstore in Osaka, Japan, shows Amanda’s strength lies in the sensitivity to her environment and the people she photographs. Her capability in fulfilling a brief, as well as her ability to contribute and define creative direction is what keeps Amanda continuously at the top of her game.
