This was produced for Bar Congress / Congress Restaurant in Austin, and was part of a series for their marketing materials.

Working with drinks can be a great challenge. I usually choose to find back light for them, as in this shot.

This photo of a farm-to-table supper club was taken for Dai Due Austin, a local restaurant and butcher shop.

We waited until late in the evening to have a soft light and to see the candles on the table.

This jar of smoking salmon was taken at Red Mountain Bistro in El Paso, TX for Texas Monthly. It can be a challenge to find good lighting on location.

Here, I used directed window light, which I reflected for back light, and pushed the jar against a dark surface on a bar stool in order to separate the smoke from the background.

April 30. Like Afield, this was a long-term project with several shoot locations in TX. This barbecue took place downtown as part of the Austin Food & Wine Festival.

Nothing is better than a brisket. It can be great to collaborate with stylists in creating a credible food scene.

This is the result of an hour or more of development with stylist Johanna Lowe. This image is also part of the SMOKE project.
