Tuvana Buyukcinar-A46 Istanbul creativity

Turkish designer Tuvana Buyukcinar built her career in fashion by following her own set of rules. Known for her celebration of the rich, the embellished and the 'over the top', Tuvana has been rocking the Turkish fashion industry with her unique and original designs since the day she began.

After graduating in 1991, Tuvana officially entered the Istanbul fashion scene working as a stylist for fashion magazines Vizon and Cosmopolitan. In 1999 she began her foray into retail by opening the A46 boutique in partnership with her husband, Selim Demir. What would soon become known as Tuvana's trademark look began its formulations here: butterflies, pink ribbons, colourful hippie-inspired flowing fabrics, whimsical detailing and, most importantly, a fabulous fit.

In 2005 the brand designed and produced costumes for the musical "Yildizlarin Altinda", and Tuvana was subsequently nominated as 'Best Costume Designer' at the Afife Jale Theater Awards. 2005 also saw her start the international brand Tuvanam, with her designs appearing at fashion fairs in London, Milan, Paris, New York and Moscow.
