• Entries for the 2009 Sun Awards opened on May 1st, and the deadline for online entries for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize is July 6th.
• The Photographers' Gallery presents 'The Photographic Object', an exhibition exploring the physical nature of the photograph. Artists include Gerhard Richter, Wolfgang Tillmans, Andy Warhol and Catherine Yass.
• The 53rd London Film Festival will take place from October 14th-29th and is now accepting submissions.
