DAVID DOWNTON London illustration

Proof of the great revival in fashion illustration came recently when David Downton's drawings of Linda Evangelista made the first illustrated cover ever to be used by The Telegraph Magazine.

David has become a familiar face back-stage and front-of-house in the most glamorous and prestigious of the Paris Haute Couture shows - something he describes as "theatre and fashion, in extremis". His reports from the collections have appeared in The Times, The Sunday Times, and The Independent. David has been working on an ongoing 3-year project with Erin O'Connor, "a great collaboration", and is also working on a campaign for Theo Fennell.

Apart from portraits for Catherine Deneuve, Jerry Hall, Marie Helvin, Elizabeth Hurley, Iman and many others, David has worked for clients that include Tiffany's New York, SAKS 5th Avenue, Harvey Nichols, Burberry, Harrods, Estée Lauder and Revlon.
