Irving Penn New York

Welcome to the latest Showcase New York, brought to you by Production Paradise. We present the very best of the Big Apple's visual media industry, with more information in our dedicated Film and Photo directories.

In a break from our usual editorial format we present a pictorial homage to the great fashion and portrait photographer Irving Penn, who died at his Manhattan home on October 7th.

Penn's work has influenced and inspired generations of photographers, designers and industry professionals alike, shaping fashion in the public eye as precious few artists can hope to achieve. His portraiture work reflected a master's talent for light and composition that revealed hidden faces in even the world's most ubiquitous personalities, while a gift for presenting 'unknowns' with a certain allure and exoticism equally cemented his reputation as a true pioneer behind the lens.
